Day 5...The Return

Our final day on the East Coast began with a tour of the Battle of Gettysburg. Riding around these historic grounds was educational and made more entertaining by our witty tour guide who gave students nicknames such as "Ice" and showed pictures of a ghost that lives on these battlefields. After lunch, we returned to the Gettysburg Visitor Center to participate in our community service activity. However, due to a scheduling conflict we were unable to do so. Not many of the students complained as their batteries were running quite low by this time. After getting an impromptu behind the scenes tour of the historic Gettysburg Cyclorama, we loaded up the buses and headed to the airport. It was here that we said farewell to Beth and Bud, before boarding our plane bound for Los Angeles. Our flight was thankfully uneventful and we even arrived in Los Angeles earlier than expected.
Throughout the trip, our students were constantly complimented for their behavior and impressive historical knowledge. The teachers would like to thank the students for making the trip a fun and successful event. We would also like to thank the parents for picking up their students in a timely manner so that we can rest up and hopefully remember to stop counting to 39 any time our students gather in a group!
